This Falcon Heights home needed a twenty-first century organizational update with more living space. The homeowner yearned for a back entry mudroom, pantry, and home office area. The solution was to create an arched entry from a second bedroom that adjoined the kitchen/back door area. This would create an accessible space from the entry and kitchen for custom cabinetry that would organize a boot and coat storage area, pantry, and home office desk.
The existing basement was given new life by adding two egress windows and floating cork flooring. A basement bedroom was efficiently designed with the use of sliding two-panel barn doors on the entry and closet, this would not waste any valuable floor space. A dormer addition on the upper level created a larger bedroom. Cork flooring and custom built-in bookcases warm and organize the space.
