Castle offers a variety of Design service options to fit almost any need. Below are our most popular packages:
Design Services
$64 hour: If you are looking for design help, our Designers are available on an hourly basis. If you need something specific and just can't find it...antiques, lighting fixtures, tile, countertops, cabinetry, special materials, one-of-a-kind, or architectural elements, we'll find it for you. If it is a custom-made piece you need, we'll design it for you and make it happen. If you need a guide on a furniture shopping excursion (even on-line!) we can accompany you and help you to make smart choices... because remember... we can help you make your home your Castle!
Make Over your Castle
$350 per room/space: Includes two appointments...first we want to get to know you, see your Castle and how you use it, and take pictures and measurements. Secondly, you'll come visit our Castle and receive a concept and recommendations for colors, styles, materials. and resources to update the space with design elements that fit your budget. We can complete detailed pricing for the labor and materials so you can decide the materials you would like Castle to provide as well as how much of the labor you want to tackle and how much you want Castle to do.
Color Your Castle
$125 per floor: Maybe your wall colors are a bit 15th century and you need the courage to brighten your Castle up a bit....this is for you! Perhaps you have a very open floor plan and don't know where to stop and start with the color, but you know you want everything to flow, or maybe you just need a second set of eyes...and what to do with the millwork? This is for you, too.

Stop in and see us at our Minneapolis or St. Paul locations and browse our showroom to see all types of building products and design accessories. Feel free to bring photos of your castle, a rough floor plan, or pictures of spaces that inspire you. We offer free consultations with our design consultants on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Minneapolis 1st & 3rd Saturday, St. Paul 2nd & 4th Saturday) but you're welcome to stop in or give us a call to set a time that is convenient for you.

Castle's two convenient design selection studios drastically simplify the design selection process for Castle clients by eliminating many trips to far-flung showrooms. By consolidating many selections in one central location, our clients can work one-on-one with our designers to create a unique and well-planned project. Castle's design selection studios feature a limited selection of the most popular choices for older homes in categories like tile, millwork, cabinets, countertops, hardware, windows, carpet, vinyl flooring, paint, knobs/pulls, closet organization, siding, drywall, hardwood floors and more. Seeing most of the selections together in one place helps to ensure the final project is cohesive and has that special feel.
Besides making product selections, the NE Design Selection Studio showcases Castle Building & Remodeling's fine craftsmanship by displaying a 1940's-era kitchen that features cherry cabinets, a 1930's Arts & Crafts era conference room, and a 1910's style bathroom with a hex tile floor and subway tile on the walls. The showroom has a neighborhood feel and is located in the building that was originally Jack & Ila's Grocery Store when built in 1917.
Castle's St. Paul Design Selection Studio was also originally a corner grocery store and features an original tin ceiling and maple hardwood floors. The newly remodeled space features a working kitchen that tastefully mixes traditional styles and modern accents. The newly added bathroom has a sophisticated feel that blends traditional finishes such as white subway tile and detailed casing and crown molding with a modern take on hex floor tile.
