Makeovers
Are you looking to update a room by simply freshening it up without tearing it apart and fully remodeling the space? A makeover may be the perfect solution for you. Typically makeovers are done on kitchens and bathrooms to update the look and feel of the space. Below are two examples.
Kitchen
A makeover is a simpler form of a kitchen remodel, and normally involves saving the cabinets and updating parts of the kitchen. Makeovers range from replacing countertops to major projects that change spaces and transform styles.
This project involved making over an existing kitchen in a beautiful 1910's South Minneapolis home. A new undermount sink was installed as well as a new faucet. A tile backsplash with decorative inlay above the stove was installed. Undercabinet lights were also installed as task lighting. New knobs and pulls were installed on the existing cabinet doors and drawers. New appliances that were provided by the client were installed. A panel was built for the new dishwasher and stained to match the existing cabinet. New Cambria countertops were installed to complete the look and brighten up the space. Last, a vinyl floor was installed to replace the worn flooring and complete the transformation.
Approximate Project Cost: $13,800
Bathroom
This project involved making over the main floor bathroom, which was the only bath in the house. The layout of the bathroom did not change. The bathroom walls (pink plastic tile) were removed. The toilet, tub, and floor tile remained in place. The existing window also remained. The walls (interior as well) were insulated and new sheetrock was installed. A pedestal sink and new faucet was installed. Electric was re-worked to code. An exhaust fan was installed as well as two wall sconce lights. Tile was installed on the walls of the shower. The existing bathroom door remained and was painted. Princeton casing was used to match the rest of the home. A recessed medicine cabinet, new towel bars and accessories, and a shower curtain rod were also installed. The walls were painted by the homeowner.
Approximate Project Cost: $9,200
