Owner / Business Manager - Loren Schirber

Loren SchirberOwner Loren Schirber attended the University of North Dakota where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and received a Certificate of Entrepreneurship. While in school, Loren was involved in organizations, leadership activities, and worked part-time at a local financial institution in the marketing department. While in the Entrepreneurship Program at the University of North Dakota, Loren had the opportunity to compete in several national business plan competitions. Loren and a partner completed a business plan, entered, and placed in three large national competitions. They competed against other students from some of the top educational institutions in North America and presented their plan to bankers, VC's, entrepreneurs, and investors.

After graduating from UND, Loren accepted a position with CROSSMARK Sales and Marketing, an organization that competed in the space between consumer-packaged goods companies and mass merchandisers. Loren was promoted after catching the attention of a top manager and moved to Plano, TX to work at the company's corporate headquarters as a consultant, an analyst, and as a member of the business development team. After two years in the corporate world, Loren decided to return to Minneapolis to attend graduate school and be closer to his future wife, Jill Wilhelmi, family, and friends.

Loren attended the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, and received his MBA in 2005. Loren received the Illbruck Fellowship which made attending the full-time program possible. Loren's studies focused on Venture Growth, Entrepreneurship, and Marketing but he also broadened his focus and took classes that could be of specific benefit to Castle.

Loren is skilled at yard games like bags and holy board and enjoys sports that beer can be consumed while enjoying such as golf and bowling.



Lead Interior Designer - Katie Jaydan, ASID

Katie Jaydan, ASIKatie holds a BS in Interior Design. She has 3 years of commercial property management, construction and renovation experience and has worked in the residential remodeling field since 2003. She also possesses an NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) Certificate and is a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

With Castle, Katie has become a member of the NARI Green Remodeling Task Group, designed the first GreenStar Pilot Program Certified Remodel in Minnesota, and was voted as one of the top eco-friendly Interior Designers by Innovative Home Magazine.




Project Planner - Troy Sinykin

Troy SinykinTroy Sinykin has a passion for helping homeowners to find the unique solution that is right for them and their homes.  As a remodeling professional in sales and project planning, Troy has spent 16 years working in all areas of residential remodeling.  Focusing on communication through listening and educating homeowners, Troy has been a part of hundreds of successful remodeling projects.  In his spare time Troy enjoys running away from the responsibilities of being a husband to his wife and father to his two precocious children on his motorcycle seeking respite on a favorite stretch of trout waters.






Interior Designer - Karie Place

Karie PlaceKarie Place is an active member of many trade organizations, including NARI, ASID and on the Programs Committee for NKBA. Karie graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in 2004, with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. Two weeks after graduation Karie was employed at a small design firm in St. Croix Valley for a year. She then moved on to work in the Kitchen and Bath Design Department of a building supply company for 3-1/2 years. There she gained experience melding the two worlds of design and construction together, working directly with homeowners and contractors. Karie is currently working on getting her CKD (certified kitchen designer) certification. With versatility and complete project management - from concept to completion, Karie will be a great resource for any design project or remodel. Experienced in interior and kitchen/bath design - Karie will apply her discerning attention to your homes balance and harmony whether it's a remodel project or new construction. Whatever your design needs, Karie will make the most out of what you have - from showcasing a cherished memento to reusing materials to enhance your home. In addition, Karie is committed to incorporating green building standards seamlessly into each project, whenever possible. Karie goes beyond the expected balance and color combination services of so many other builders. She will infuse her professional experience with her heart-felt instinct to develop your house into a home. A house that will provide a welcome warmth to all who enter into the home.



Interior Designer - Elizabeth Bland - Allied ASID

Elizabeth BlandElizabth holds a BFA in Interior Design for Harrington College of Design in Chicago. She has previous experience working in commercial interiors and high-end residential design, as well as retail sales at a kitchen and bath showroom. She is also a certified AKBD (Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer). Elizabeth is an Allied member of the American Society of Interior Designers.

During her undergraduate studies, Elizabeth participated in a study abroad to Greece, where she found her passion for historic architecture and design. Her love of old homes makes her a great fit for Castle's clients, who often have older homes in the city. Elizabeth focuses on helping clients creat beautiful spaces that fit seamlessly with the style of their homes.

Elizabeth excels at lawn bowling and sucks at real bowling.



Interior Designer - Kellie Corbett

Kellie CorbettKellie holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institutes International Minnesota, and is excited to be working in the design industry. Kellie loves working one on one with clients and helping them find the right selections for each individual space. One of the things she enjoys most about working with clients is being able to have face to face interactions, and build a positive relationship through design. When she isn’t working, Kellie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, taking her dog on long walks through NE Minneapolis, and shopping at any thrift store or garage sale that she can come across. If she’s not out walking her dog or bargain hunting, you can find her watching episodes of The Office and comparing her friends and family to the characters.




Interior Design Intern - Courtney Walker

Courtney WalkerCourtney Walker received a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design from the Art Institutes International Minnesota in September 2011. While in school she learned the importance of team work and gained a strong background in design fundamentals. Courtney is a student member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Moving to Minnesota from Iowa in 2009 to attend school, she fell in love with the cities and is now starting her design career with Castle. In her free time she enjoys reading, painting and spending time with friends and family.






Project Manager - Bill Braniff

Bill Braniff

Bill brings to Castle over 15 years of experience in the construction industry as a framing carpenter, lead remodeling carpenter, and in various roles of construction management. His previous experience as a high school English teacher proves invaluable on a daily basis, both in project management and in communication with clients and trade partners. Bill enjoys keeping up with his two young children, hiking and camping when there is time, and a variety of woodworking projects.







Project Manager - Noah Martin

Noah Martin

Noah brings to Castle over 10 years of experience in the construction industry most recently as a freelance project manager and residential remodeling company owner. This former entrepreneur joined Castle to allow for a steadier work load and guaranteed income to help support his growing family. Noah decided he couldn’t save the world with philosophy after college and fell into the trades by accident. After several years working for others learning about the construction industry, Noah struck out on his own. Noah brings with him a precision and attention to detail that is essential for his role of Project Manager, as well as a smart and sarcastic sense of humor sure to help you through the ups and downs of your remodeling project.






Special Projects Manager - Aaron Johnson

Aaron Johnson

Aaron is a very special person which makes him ideal to run the Castle Special Projects Division. A deep understanding of how homes work and many years of experience in working with older homes makes Aaron ideal to manage the wide variety of remodeling projects Castle's Special Projects Division handles. A special ability to multi-task and a willingness to almost live on his iPhone (cell, email, picture mail the whole deal) allows Aaron to manage several crews and efficiently oversee several projects at the same time. Aaron is an avid brewer of beer (and consumer) which leaves him fit as a fiddle. In his spare time Aaron likes to whistle show tunes. Aaron has three children in the Minneapolis Public School system and lives in NE Minneapolis.






Lisa Treviranus - Office Manager

Lisa Treviranus Lisa Treviranus is the Office Manager at Castle Building & Remodeling. Lisa comes to us with over 20 years of experience in managing a busy office. She takes care of day-to-day office duties, accounts payable & receivables, phones, and works with the Castle team to ensure the best customer service for our clients.
