Marty Schirber
Marty is a Certified Remodeler (CR), a distinction granted by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). Born the oldest of sixteen children, raised in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Marty has been "running a crew" all his life. He began his career as a laborer in carpentry and remodeling more than 35 years ago and has learned through hands-on experience. On January 1, 1977, he started Castle Building & Remodeling, Inc.

Mr. Schirber is considered an industry leader by his peers at the local, state, and national level. He was a founding member of the local chapter of NARI, which is a nationwide association for members of the remodeling industry to help keep them at the top of current trends, safety issues, new products, and refined techniques used by cutting-edge companies across the country. Marty served as President of the local NARI chapter in 1983-84. He was designated Industry Leader of the Year in 1993. He represented the Minnesota Chapter of NARI on the National level as their National Representative from 1993 to 1997. He held the position of Regional Vice president for three years, from 1998 to 2000. Remodeling Magazine chose Marty and Castle as one of the Big 50 Remodelers in the United States in 2000.

Outside of work Marty enjoys hiking in state parks, traveling, and volunteering. Marty is currently very involved in the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, Northeast Community Development Corporation, and the Minneapolis Consortium of Community Developers.


Loren Schirber
Loren joined Castle Building & Remodeling, Inc. in April of 2003 and brings with him a strong business background. Loren has since acquired 49% ownership of the company. While at Castle Building & Remodeling, Inc. Loren has increased the visibility of the company through consistent marketing and increased sales an average of 50% per year. Loren has also built a team of professionals and increased the level of service the company provides to clients.

Since joining the remodeling industry Loren has been heavily involved with several remodeling associations. In the fall of 2006, Loren was asked to join the Board of Directors of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry of Minnesota.

In the spring of 2005, Loren graduated from the full-time MBA program at the Carlson School of Management. Loren received the Illbruck Business Fellowship, a full scholarship, which helped make full-time graduate school possible. At the Carlson School of Management, Loren focused his studies on Entrepreneurship and Marketing.

Before returning to the Carlson School of Management, Loren worked for CROSSMARK Sales & Marketing in their Minneapolis and Plano, Texas offices. CROSSMARK is an international food broker that was uniquely positioned between approximately 1500 consumer packaged goods manufacturers and nearly all types and classes of food retailers. Loren held a variety of titles while at CROSSMARK, including Sales Representative, Analyst, Consultant, and Director of New Business Development.

Prior to employment at CROSSMARK, Loren attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, North Dakota where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Marketing.
