After listening to what you want and evaluating what you hope to accomplish from your remodel project, our designers will present you with a conceptual design. This may consist of varying options for your new space and will result in a clear definition of the desired plan.
Second Step - Preliminary Design
The second step of our design process is the Preliminary Design. In this step, the look and the feel of the finished space is planned. Products, finishes, textures and colors are chosen.
Third Step - Final Design:

Our talented team of design professionals will work with you as you complete the steps of the design & planning process.
Predictable Forecasts
Castle prides itself on finishing projects quickly, allowing you to get back to your normal routine and enjoy your new space. Before contract signing, Castle will develop a forecast that outlines a timeline for your project. This forecast is reviewed, adjusted, and approved by the production team and the Project Manager. Upon starting the project and signing a contract, the forecast is shared with trade partners and material suppliers so that they can plan ahead and place special material orders. Many projects that Castle completes involve 10+ trade partners as well as materials from 10+ suppliers, making an accurate and comprehensive planning process paramount to finishing on schedule.
The bad news is that even with this much planning, delays will still occur. Relying on so many partners to complete their work or deliver their materials as specified and on time can be a challenge. This is why Castle works with the same partners repeatedly to minimize delays and miscommunications. To learn more about our trade partners, click here. Delays
Most projects will experience at least one minor delay. Every forecast Castle creates contains additional time in anticipation of these minor hiccups. The most common causes of project delays include:
- Incorrect material orders/deliveries
- Trade Partner schedule conflicts and delays or lack of proper notification in advance of work by Castle Project Managers.
- Delayed material availability — As our dependence on imported materials increases, so does the likelihood that goods will be stuck in customs, lost in route, or delayed.
- Failed inspections — There are a plethora of building codes that can each be interpreted differently in each municipality or by each building inspector or building official. Occasionally, building inspectors require work to be fixed or re-done.
- Change Orders. Each change order has the potential to delay the project if unforeseen changes are made that require ordering additional materials, scheduling trade partners, and re-deploying labor. Each Castle Change Order contains a line that explains the additional time the change will add to the project, if any.
- Client-supplied materials and client-done work also have the potential to delay projects. Proactive communication between the client and Project Manager is necessary to ensure as few delays as possible.
