2015 Home Tour Participant
The kitchen is this 1996 built home, in an old section of NE Minneapolis, needed a refresh. Dropped soffits over the upper cabinets restricted storage space and the Homeowners needed an upgrade from the laminate countertops and basic oak cabinetry. In addition, they wanted to open up a wall between the living room and dining room and add a three-sided fireplace.
The basic layout of the kitchen stayed the same, but Castle added a lot more flair with cherry stained cabinets and a painted island cabinet. Cambria countertops and a maple butcher block top over the island cabinet accent the unique tile backsplash with a handmade bubble tile detail over the range. The same custom tile is used as a fireplace surround to tie the entire project together.
