DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS FOR ADDITION PROJECTS

  • Exterior Details – Exterior trim around windows and doors and decorative details can have some variations in thickness, texture, or color.  Windows, storm doors, and storm windows also come in certain colors.  Coordinating the look of these elements helps to give your exterior nice curb appeal.
  • Matching interior details – Figuring out the little details like millwork, doors, hardware, and hardwood flooring help your project fit in with the rest of your home.
  • White vinyl windows and wood trim, it’s like socks and sandals.  People do it, but it doesn’t mean it’s right.  Consider painting your trim white if you plan to install white windows.
