This home was built in the late 1800s, moved to this site in the early 1900s, and was added onto in the 1940s. We created a partial 2nd story addition for a primary suite and study. The client’s top desires were numerous windows, “an echo of the houses in the mountains in Lebanon”, built in bookcases, and a free standing tub. This project involved a fair amount of restructuring on other levels, alterations to main floor bath, and opening of a wall between the living room and existing bedroom, and an elegant new stairway and railing. A laundry closet was added to the upper level, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical upgrades were completed as well. The design style of the bathroom and remodel compliments the owner’s beautiful decor. Our client’s goal was to stay true to the home, as well as incorporate a Middle Eastern style reminiscent of the Ottoman Era of the late 19th centery/early 20th century in the Levant, and incorporate a Mid-Century Modern twist. We are happy to have created such a welcoming, light and funtional space for her!
