“We felt completely comfortable with Castle from start to finish. Great process. Great design ideas & suggestions from our designer, while incorporating our own ideas. On time & on budget!”

“We are just wrapping up a remodel of our home in Bloomington, and we wanted to express our thanks for a job well-done and especially to call out the exemplary work of Katy Dale. Full disclosure: Katy is our friend and neighbor here — but that is not at all the reason for us writing this letter. We’d be saying the same things if she were a perfect stranger.
First, a bit of our remodeling background. We have done a lot of work on this house in the last three years. That context will, I think, give more weight to what we’ll say about our Castle project. So here goes with the history of two previous contractors:
Contractor #1. Three years ago we had a contractor redo a bathroom after a pipe leak. That was a small project ~$12k, but it gave us a taste of the complexity of working with a contractor even on a seemingly simple project. It was a painful process, there were elements of the project that were never finished to our satisfaction, and we have a sense that the price-value equation was not balanced in our favor.
Contractor #2. Then two years ago we had a design-build company redo our kitchen. It was, for us, a big project, ending up around $80k. While we were happy with the results, the process left much to be desired. We felt like the design relied almost exclusively on us, even though we worked with their designer and paid a fee for it. We also did not get significant guidance from the designer on things we might do to get the same results within a smaller budget — how to save money. Finally, the project management was only slightly short of a disaster, with multiple items needing to be redone and the timeline slipping by months. If it hadn’t been for those project management problems, we probably never would have thought twice about proceeding with the same company for our bigger remodel plan. But as it was we came across Katy and Castle and thought, “well at least let’s get a bid against our existing company.”
Katy then proceeded to give us an entirely different experience, and had us feeling grateful every day of the project that we had gone with Castle rather than our previous company. She was a model of what we feel a design-build architect should be.
First, she was actually an architect! Instead of just designing pretty pictures, it was clear she understood the underlying structures and systems, which allowed her to make critical recommendations at the design-phase that would have us avoid unanticipated expenses and problems.
Next, we felt like Katy was on our side — in a win-win sense. She went out of her way to suggest alternatives to our design ideas that might save us money. She thought of little details that we could finish by ourselves to stay within budget. She searched tirelessly for the items that would fit within our specs and wishes, even going so far as to try to find us a squat toilet (a short-lived wishlist item that thankfully she talked us out of).
Finally and most important of all, Katy truly helped with our layout, taking our ideas and criteria and making them better than we could ever have done by ourselves. Hardly a day goes by that we don’t pause for a moment and appreciate what she helped us get done in this space.
Even when we had difficulties with certain pieces of the project — which we know from past experience are absolutely inevitable — we felt like Katy delivered reasonable and good-faith solutions.
So thanks again for the great experience. We appreciate the company and culture you’ve built at Castle — in which Katy is an integral player!”
S.H. – Bloomington
“Castle was wonderful to work with. The designer (Ashley H) worked well with us to design a project that was satisfying and within our budget. Both the construction manager (Steve) and Ashley were very responsive, communicative, warm and friendly, and worked with us closely throughout the design and build process. We received regular updates about building schedules, advice on how to prepare for different phases of building and were helpful with advice on changes/choices we had to make re: plumbing, wall configurations, etc. Overall, we had a very satisfying experience and the finished work is high quality. They were on-time (almost always) and stayed on budget. Highly recommend. Description of work: Half bath and coat closet installation on first floor. Installation of storage cabinets, tech tube on first floor and upstairs bathroom. Replacement of kitchen ceiling. Remodeling/fixing second floor bathroom, which included tub replacement, toilet replacement, and re-tiling. Re-finishing all wood floors on the first floor, and refinishing wood stairway between first and second floor. Painting walls and ceilings of kitchen, living room, bathroom, 2nd bathroom, new closet, bathroom on the 2nd floor, staircase. Replacing bathroom exhaust fans. Replacing front storm door. Tiling back entryway. Replacing/installing new light/fan fixtures in the living room, new bathroom, new hallway. Installing new ductless mini-split system on first floor, second floor and third floor. Fixing baseboard issues in bedroom closet. Fixing various indoor doors.”
S.R. – Minneapolis
“We are very happy with how the kitchen remodel has turned out. Larry has been terrific through the whole project and has kept us informed and updated every step of the way along with keeping the project on schedule. He was very responsive to all our questions, comments, etc. We have had an excellent experience with Castle Building & Remodeling, especially with Emily and Larry. We have already mentioned Castle to several neighbors and family members. Thank you!”
P.F. – Minneapolis
“I cannot tell you how important it is to choose a professional builder like Castle for your project. One that will do the right thing and take care of you when you encounter problems. And with any project of this magnitude you will encounter problems. If you don’t you are the luckiest person alive. We had a series of very bad luck items occur that certainly were not the fault of Castle but at every turn they made it right.
Preliminary Estimates: When other builders wouldn’t give us the time of day, because or project was bigger than our budget Castle worked with us to figure out a way that we could do it. We ended up doing some of the demo, painting, trim work and tile work and other finish work. This really means Castle had to do extra administrative work to make this work. Not every builder will do it. They have to schedule homeowner work into the calendar just like a regular contractor. We really appreciated that Loren (the co-owner) and Amanda (Designer) came out and talked us through our project options on the first visit. They were able to give us some options and ball park figures based on other projects after just a few days.
Design: We then spent a couple months working through the design and budget. Amanda was fantastic. We had really thought about this project for years so we had some good ideas to start with but Amanda created a kitchen configuration that we hadn’t even considered which we now love. She also came up with the fantastic Idea of double 6 foot sliders looking out the back of our properly. Way cheaper than a massive foldout door you see on home shows. There are just so many details you don’t think about but Amanda had them all covered.
Build: We were difficult customers. We are picky and we made a lot of changes. We also had some bad luck incidents. Steve our project manager was great. He rolled with the punches and we came to compromises and agreements on every issue. Of course we were stressed because we were living in our basement for three months but none of that stress came from Castle. The Castle carpenters were all super friendly and did really solid work. The plumbing, HVAC, and electrical contractors were all top notch. They even recommend a metal company to fabricate our steel stair railing who we worked with outside the main project. Really they did everything they could to make this project work within our budget. ( except for our additional change orders which were all reasonable priced) Finally, the project was done on time.
Finished Product: We absolutely love the finished product. We couldn’t be happier and we can now stay in our house for as long as we live. We have had several parties since the remodel and everyone loves it. I have a hard time leaving for work every day since I really just want to sip coffee in our kitchen, while leaning over our beautiful Cambria counter tops and look out the big sliding doors and window into our backyard.
Thank you Castle!”
P.T. – Minneapolis
“Remodeling can be a scary prospect, but Castle really made us feel like we were in a partnership with people who are experienced and could guide us through. Every step of the way, our questions and concerns were attended to–from making sure our pets were kept safe and secure to helping us find a home for some unwanted finishings from the previous space! We could not be happier with how our project ended up.”
G.V. – Minneapolis
“We are extremely happy with the work performed by Castle and would definitely recommend your company to others. While Castle is a bit more expensive, we definitely feel like it was worth it. We really didn’t have to worry about a thing throughout the project because Steve and Ashley were all over it. We also had a baby in the middle of the construction and Steve and Ashley were so kind to give us the space we needed after bringing the new baby home. They also gifted us a sleeper outfit and bib – such a personal touch!”
C.M. – St. Anthony
“We just finished a half house remodel, kitchen bathrooms, etc. We used Castle Building and Remodeling. They were great from start to finish. They have been in business for 41 years and really know what they’re doing. I interviewed maybe 10 different companies and ultimately went with Castle. I felt like they were a really good value for everything we had done, also no hidden fees..once we signed the contact there were no changes unless we decided to make them.”
E. A. – Minnetonka
“This is our second project with Castle. I have been impressed by their transparency through the entire process, efficiency, and strength in communication. They have been a pleasure to work with and I look forward to future projects with Castle!”
S.S. – St. Paul
“As things wind down (we hope) on our bathroom remodel, I want to be sure to send an email I meant to send toward the beginning of the project. If you remember, when negotiating the bid price, I (Tom) wondered why we needed to pay for a designer on what seemed such a straight forward project. OK, I’m eating my words. Ashley was a pleasure to work with. She was always more than attentive to our ideas, but wasn’t afraid to nudge us into considering things we never would have on our own. Frankly, we wouldn’t even have known there was that much to consider in 36 square feet. As the design elements come together in the finished product, Ashley’s influence is evident, and much welcomed.”
K.B. -Falcon Heights
“A huge thank you to you and your employees for the wonderful remodel project that we recently completed. Having heard the harrowing stories of other people that have done remodels, we have been so pleased to be able to tell friends how smoothly our project with Castle went. Castle helped us design the project (and were patient with us as we got things finalized), you told us what it would cost, and you told us how long it would take. On the last two counts friends have been taken aback that the project was completed on time and on budget. What a great experience for us on our first ever remodel project. From the start to the end of the whole project, it has been the Castle people that have really stood out for us. Thank you to everyone for making this such a positive experience. When anyone asks us, we unreservedly recommend Castle. We look forward to working with Castle on our next project (we are already thinking what that might be).”
O.Y. – Columbia Heights
“I wanted to send you a thank you for the bathroom remodel in my house this fall. I absolutely love the bathroom transformation. I greatly appreciate your suggestion last spring that I take a look at the Sterling shower ensemble as a possible replacement for the old existing bathtub since I wanted a shower only. The Sterling product along with the glass shower doors provides sufficient bathing space and is so very easy to clean. I love the straight-forward “modern” styling that complements the 1950s character of original plastic tile and birch trim in the bathroom. I’ve attached a couple of photos of the finished bathroom. It was a pleasure working with you, the Castle workmen, and your flooring and plumbing subcontractors. All of you were so professional, considerate, and courteous. Wishing you a happy holiday season.”
J.L. – Minneapolis
“It was an impressive feat the way Emily and Scott orchestrated so many people and blended their expertise to a project that was unified and solidly done right down the most minute inspection.”
J&H.P. – Minneapolis
“We had an excellent experience with our remodel. We were exceptionally pleased with how Castle was able to change directions when we made drastic changes to our plans. They also did exceptional work and the house looks fantastic. I have had multiple people state that the remodel looks so natural that it feels as though the house was built that way!”
T.L-Z. – Shoreview
“Everyone we worked with was very courteous, communicative, and went out of their way to minimize the impact of renovating the only bathroom in a small house. We especially appreciated our project manager, Scott, who took great care of us. Also, I’d like to compliment the guy who did the tile (not sure of his name) on his excellent, detailed work! Overall, we’re very happy with the people we worked with at Castle, who were all accommodating, responsive, professional, and creative. Our bathroom renovation turned out beautifully!”
M.C. – Minneapolis
“Just wanted to let you know that I am really happy with the new kitchen. It was great to work with you both and your fantastic team of employees and contractors. I was also impressed with the timelines being met as scheduled. The daily update was also appreciated. Please feel free to share this this e-mail with your boss. Angie’s List will receive an A report!
P.J. – Minneapolis
“Castle performed work on my 2-story duplex, which started with replacing aging plumbing supply lines that had begun to clog shut from corrosion and cause leaks. Knowing this would require opening walls to the upstairs, we decided to remodel the upstairs bath and add laundry capabilities.
This project was faced with two major challenges: 1) I had tenants in both units for whom I needed to minimize disturbance/displacement and 2) I travel weekly for work and could not be present most of the time to manage the process. I’m a DIYer normally, but this was beyond my scope. I was recommended to Castle by my wife who went to business school with the owner, Loren. Loren was responsive and professional, and helped with initial scoping. The project manager Travis took over, leading the final scoping, subcontractor estimates, and overall project management during the construction. Key to my peace of mind was Travis’ cooperation in staying in close contact and providing me daily phone updates while I was traveling. The project plan was well defined, and Travis did a great job of keeping me informed of all changes/issues. The original project plan was a very conservative 4 weeks in length, but Travis worked closely with his subs to manage the bulk of the project down to 2 weeks, which was critical.
Price was a little on the high side and was very a la carte – what you see is what you get (no big contingency buffers, but any changes were made through incremental change orders). That said, I found the pricing very transparent, and for me, the peace of mind of having the project run smoothly was worth the premium.
The only reason I withheld an A on Quality is because there were a few oversights which I needed to spot and raise issue with. However, Travis was quick to remedy them without question, so they held true to their word and spirit of the contract.
Overall the project went very well, especially considering the age of the house and the potential surprises it can hide. The change orders were not big surprises, and actually were very fairly priced. I will definitely do business with Castle in the future.”
J.H. – South Minneapolis
“From meeting with our designer to the final walk through, Castle Building and Remodeling surpassed our expectations. Every employee showed complete professionalism when in our home and quality craftsmanship. Our kitchen remodel turned out to be the beautiful room we dreamed of thanks to the design work of Courtney, the woodwork of Steve and the project management of Dave. We highly recommend Castle to everyone.”
T.G. & K.G. – Mendota Heights
“I just wanted to share what a FANTASTIC experience we have had with Castle during our kitchen and bathroom project. Everyone has been great, but two individuals have stood out during the process – Larry and Cory.
Larry has done an exceptional job managing the project. He has continually been two steps ahead of us to identify/address concerns and guide solutions. Larry is extremely knowledgeable, objective and (an often underrate professional quality) kind; he always has the best interests of our home and family in mind, and I appreciate that more than you could know. There is great value in having someone who takes the burden off your plate during a stressful process — Larry has been doing that since day one. He also really gets the budget aspect of this job … and did a great job helping us stick to the value focused objective of the project.
Cory has continually displayed superior attention to detail and extremely high quality workmanship. From day one, Cory was very thoughtful about the installation of our cabinets. It would have been very easy for him to turn his nose up at our selection of IKEA cabinets, but he worked above that. And when issues presented themselves with how we were going to install a very heavy Italian (Bertazonni) wall oven into a less than heavy duty Swedish (IKEA) cabinet, Cory (and Larry) went out of his way to develop a safe, visually appealing plan that maximized our storage space using the materials we had on hand.
They have both also been very nice to our kids — which we very much appreciate.
PS – You can bet that if we decide to move ahead with the attic project and/or buy a bigger house, we’ll be calling Castle. ”
A.S. & S.S. – South Minneapolis
“Thank you so much for your quick response to our faucet replacement. I no longer have to listen to the drips coming from the kitchen and the cabinet underneath is dry.
As always, [my husband] and I have always been pleased with the service and workmanship from Castle Building and Remodeling. Hope to work with you again when it’s time to remodel the upstairs bathroom.”
C.S. – Arden Hills
“It was a big project. When they came out to do the initial looking at the bathroom, one thing that impressed me was one of the owners came. It wasn’t a worker. He came along with his designer. They were always on time. The start of the day was always on time. The end of the day was always on time. I had no problems whatsoever. I can’t say enough good things about that company. I was very, very impressed. I definitely would use them again for anything. They would call and let me know what contractors were coming in and when they were going to do something and what it was. They were always on schedule and never fell behind, even though they had other jobs to do. Their scheduling was very good.”
A.D. – South Minneapolis
“When everything goes as planned it is easy to give a good recommendation. Our project did not and it is at this time that you see the real character of the company you have hired. We are very pleased with the new bathroom and the people at Castle are the best.”
C.C. & C.C. – South Minneapolis
“From start to finish, our kitchen remodeling experience with Castle Building & Remodeling was fabulous! We have a small, South Minneapolis home that had a tiny, cramped kitchen and dining space. Our designer, Amy, listened closely to our wishes and needs and created a design that perfectly addressed our issues and incorporated many features we didn’t think were even possible! Throughout the entire process, communication was clear, fast, & up to date. Bill, our project manager, was great about keeping us informed throughout the entire construction phase. We couldn’t be happier about our experience with Castle. They gave us an amazing space that has totally changed how we use our kitchen. We don’t know how we functioned before!”
A.D. – South Minneapolis
“Thank you both for all the effort you put into making our kitchen a much nicer place for us to be! We are so pleased with the colors and materials. We enjoyed working with you and all the workers who contributed to the project. We really appreciate and have already enjoyed looking at the Larry Millett book you gave us. Thank you! Congratulations on the nice publicity Castle Remodeling has been receiving.”
P.T. & R.T – South Minneapolis
“Thanks, Travis! We’re totally impressed with your team’s awesomeness! This probably sounds silly, but it was exciting and fun to have your team of pros here to help make this dream come true – it never seemed to wear or get old on our end. And, I know Carson has made a lot of new friends :)”
K.H. – St. Paul
“Thank you for all of your hard work from beginning to end of our project. We absolutely love our new space, and found everyone at Castle very accommodating and easy to work with. All the workers that came to our house were friendly, respectful, and hard working. Everyone comments on the false wall hiding the mudroom area – I am so glad we didn’t move the kitchen to the other end like I originally thought we should. Amy, your advice and guidance were invaluable during this project.”
M.P & B.E. – Roseville
“We were very happy with the services & staff and would definitely contact Castle to bid on future (& more involved) projects. Thanks!”
H.K – NE Mpls
“Just wanted to say a big “THANKYOU”!!!! Am very pleased and Scott is a keeper, so glad I called you for help!!”
B.B. – NE Minneapolis
“Floor was repaired last Tuesday – amazing job. Nick really took his time and did the job right. I can’t say enough good things about Nick…professional, skilled, friendly and KNEW tile. We stayed off the floor for about 24 hours. It looks perfect again….my only regret is we waited so long. I’m glad we found the right people.”
“Thank you so much for the use of your bounce house. Our block party was a great success, keeping the kids busy & happy, which makes the adults happier!”
V. R. – Uptown
“I just love the kitchen and enjoy it so much. It’s beautiful and I appreciate all of the help and knowledge you shared with me to make it turn out so brilliantly.”
“Travis came by yesterday, and he fixed the few issues. My kitchen looks so nice–such an improvement. The cleanup was good as well, and I’ve already put everything back in order.”
P.S. – Minneapolis
“We love the final look!!! Thank you again for all the hard work.”
L.D. – North Oaks
“Yes, the bathroom looks beautiful. We are very happy. I can’t wait to see the window and cabinet installed today!”
G.A. – Roseville
We loved working with Katie!
T.C. & M.C. – St. Paul
Kellie did a great job and kept me informed.
G.S. – Minneapolis
We just wanted to say thank you for all of your hard work with the basement remodel. We really like the bathroom too. The whole process from planning with Mark, the construction workers and meeting and working with you was awesome. Hopefully by next year we can give you a call again and make plans to finish the basement completely. Thanks too for the bottles of wine – that was a nice surprise to come home to after work! Take care and have a good winter.
C.S. & P.S. – Arden Hills, MN
We expected much more stress going into this remodel. We were provided with a calendar of work to be performed, and all was completed as scheduled. Noah did a great job of keeping the line of communication open. We are so pleased with how every room looks. Thanks for being a reliable contractor and honest business.
R.R. & C.R. – Minneapolis, MN
Travis, I’m very impressed with all of the work that was completed this week. Great crew. My thanks to everyone for their hard work.
K.D. – SW Mpls
I was very comfortable with start to finish. The entire group took their time to educate and explain every detail. You’re our remodeling ninjas, as most times things just came together.
T.M. – NE Mpls
I wanted to thank you so much for all of your assistance in getting our ceiling fans installed and walls/ceiling repaired. You were so responsive, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with. Travis and his team did a remarkable job. Both my husband and I were impressed from start to finish. The guys did such an amazing job of repairing the major hole in the ceiling (about 12-15 inches wide down the entire length of our living room) that you have to really look hard to see where the hole was and it has not even been repainted yet. Living in a 1922 house, we have a long list of projects both big and small we’d like to tackle in the coming years as our budget allows! We will certainly choose Castle again and recommend you to our friends & neighbors.
D.K. – Highland Park, St. Paul
They did great work for me, and I won’t hesitate to contact Castle in the future.
C.H. – Columbia Heights
“Things are certainly taking shape in our bathroom. My compliments to your crew for being so clean. I know how much dust sheetrock taping can generate, and they’re doing really well cleaning up at the end of the day. We still use the bathroom quite often so that really helps”.
Greg – NE Minneapolis
Every chance we get we are raving about the new laundry, the old five loads now equal one and we have too many clothes, turns out. Everything is clean and we don’t know where to put it all. Norm says the water softener isn’t using as much salt, so already we can tell there is less water usage. And people want to know where we found such a good remodel company, your work was so good and we keep raving about that too. Thank you for all your work!
Dorothy – St. Anthony Village
Thank you for supporting the Carlson MBA charity auction benefiting the Tubman Family Alliance and Chrysalis. Your donation of Design and Remodeling services was appreciated. The event donated over $10,000 to women and children in crisis. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause.
Carlson School of Management
We absolutely love our new place. I wish we would have done this years ago. I love the tiles in the kitchen-great job, great tile man. I do intend to complete the evaluation form, but my job is so busy currently with all of the layoffs (especially disabled people who seem to be the first to go). I feel quite overwhelmed at work and hardly get a chance to read my email. I am glad we did a complete make over and not bits and pieces. I love the paint job and colors too. Thanks for all your work and time! I hope the wall bed wasn’t too much of a headache.
Jim & Jacky – Southeast Minneapolis
“First, we feel very comfortable with the work crews – both your employees and subcontractors – finding them courteous, helpful, and neat. We know they provide quality workmanship! Second, over several projects, we have always appreciated the thoroughness and detail with which you prepare bids and work plans. Even though unanticipated events are inevitable, your planning process makes us more confident that problems will be minor, plus your specificity makes it easier to determine the value of adding or subtracting options when finalizing the project contract.”
E.M. – Southwest Minneapolis
“Thank you for taking the time to meet with us in regards to our bathroom project. We appreciated the presentation and the feedback. You are definitely a pro in the business! In our quest to find the right contractor, you certainly stood out from the rest. If I know anyone that is looking to remodel, I would definitely recommend your company.”
C.M. – Southwest Minneapolis
“Thank you for the positive experience!”
G.K. – South Minneapolis
“I love how my kitchen sink turned out. It looks great. I appreciate always getting such beautiful work done on my home. Thanks.”
D.B. – Bloomington
“Workers always on time, very helpful regarding things we did on our own. They were efficient, courteous, professional & hardworking. Excellent experience overall.”
V.G. – Northeast Minneapolis
“I just got home and I am so pleased with the result of the kitchen remodel. The backsplash is the perfect crowning touch. I look forward to cooking many wonderful meals! I was very impressed with all the work Dan did. Although there were problems with the countertop, I did get a great kitchen that I am really enjoying. I heard that the best compliment to a remodel is not being able to remember what it looked like before, and, if that is true, it sure applies. Thanks and I will be calling again for a bathroom in a couple of years.”
B. W. – Highland Park
“The quality of your service was outstanding. It is difficult to think how it could be improved upon. Quality work, polite personnel, and speedy service – I would recommend Castle to friends and relatives. Thank you for your wonderful service and product!”
J.G. – Roseville
Dear Loren, Thank you for donating labor and supplies to Casa de Esperanza’s kitchen remodel project which was completed July 23rd, 2007. The improvements to the kitchen and living areas will make a positive impact on all of the women and children who find safety at our Refugio. Every day Casa de Esperanza provides safety and support to women and children who have experienced domestic violence. Last year we sheltered 175 women and children at El Refugio. In addition our Family Advocated assisted 444 Latinas in the community to build their strengths and make the best decisions for them and their families. Our 24/7 bilingual crisis line, El Refugio, and our advocacy with women in the community are life changing resources. Again thank you for your donation.
Amy J. Sanchez, Director of Fund Development and Communications
“Thanks to all of the Castle crew! It was a pleasure to have you in my home. Your thoughtfulness and consideration made the project very easy to live with. The work is beautifully done!”
A.M. – St. Anthony
“Picture perfect! I am so pleased with the outcome of the project. It is a real pleasure to check the basement, with all the rain we have had recently, and to find it completely dry. I couldn’t be happier with the results.”
F.K. – Northeast Minneapolis
We wanted to personally thank you for your hard work. We are very pleased with the end result. Thanks again for being a wonderful team to work with.”
A.N. & R.N. – St. Paul
“I highly recommend Castle Building & Remodeling. They allowed me to do much of the demo and various aspects of the project. From Sales to Production they were attentive to our needs and concerns. For a family of five and three month project there were minimal disruptions. I would happily do business with them in the future.”
H.A. & L.A. – South Minneapolis
“We look forward to filling out the feedback survey, but in general we’d like you to know that you have all done a wonderful job, and we particularly want to thank your carpenters & subcontractors for being considerate of our animals (and neighbors). Everything from the initial planning to the final finishing work has been great. After hearing so many of our friends’ disaster stories it’s been a relief that any issues that came up (including the “creative” electric and plumbing work from the previous owners) were quickly resolved and in many cases anticipated by you and your staff. I have already recommended you to our friends and will continue to praise your attention to detail. Thanks for all your hard work.”
H. S. – Northeast Minneapolis
“We considered both options of moving and remodeling and although the remodeling process can be hectic and stressful, we would do it all over again. The process that Castle used made the addition manageable and sometimes even enjoyable. We love our new space and thank you for your help.”
D.V & P.V. – Northeast Minneapolis
“Loren the biggest selling points for us when we were deciding on our choice of contractors was the specific ‘line item estimate.’ As a result, there were no surprises or hidden charges that were sprung on us at the completion of the project.
B.T. – NE Minneapolis
“We still love our kitchen. I would use Castle in an eyelash flash for anything I need done in the future. Everyone that worked on our project, including you, did a superior job from the actual work to keeping the area clean. You were particularly patient and wonderful about keeping me informed about everything going on and answering all my questions. From beginning to end, the whole job was really first class.”
S.J. – NE Mpls
“I just wanted to I just wanted to pass on some much appreciated kudos for the excellent work, always responsive communication, and high level integrity and recommendations from Jeremy (often missing with many contractors these days). He has been a pleasure to work with…and as you may know, we are looking at some additional projects to do in the upcoming months with Jeremy and Castle.”
S.G. – Minnetonka
“I was very satisfied with the work completed in my house. Travis did a great job managing all that was needed to be done and the arrival of all the tradesmen. Everyone did a great job.”
H. L. – St. Paul
“Extremely happy with finished renovation. Ashley was attentive to our needs and her creative design surpassed our expectations. Excellent communication, prompt responses to questions. Felt the whole design process was collaborative and timely. Ashley is the best! We appreciated the skill, promptness and communication of the Castle staff. John, Tyler, Adam, Nick, Paul, and Scott are impressive craftsmen. Respectful of our space and always kept us updated. We could not have asked for a better crew.”
J.R. – St. Paul
“Steve has been a great asset to this process, keeping us abreast of any changes in the timeline and making sure we were clear on what would be additional costs. Very helpful in answering questions in a timely manner. Emily spent a lot of time with me choosing materials and talking about space use and was very helpful with suggestions.”
R. & S. D. – New Brighton
“Excellent design with great functionality. Expert craftsmen. Project management was timely and met expected completion date. Effective communication from all team members. Are again using Castle for a new renovation in 2019. Extremely happy with the process and outcome!.”
J. & M. R. – St. Paul
“Thanks, its been done for 10 months and I’m still delighted every time I come home.”
J. H. – Golden Valley
“We used Castle Building and remodeling for our balcony last year and we are happy with our results.”

“We had Castle Building and Remodeling do a 3rd floor attic bathroom add and bedroom remodel. They weren’t the cheapest, but they did great work, they stand by it, and I would hire them again in a second.”

“This is the second time I’ve worked with Castle Building & Remodeling and I can’t recommend them more highly. Two years ago they did a major renovation to my kitchen which still looks great, and this summer they did a lovely refresh of my front porch. They were easy to work with, timely, and professional throughout the construction process, as well as afterward. Two thumbs up!.”
