We added this bathroom to existing finished 2nd floor. The space used to be a 2 bedroom plus a loft. This space is now a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, and a loft upstairs. The old dimensional 2×6 floor joists were not sufficient for a new bathroom, so we added new structural support and soffits/chase for the new plumbing. The end results is a beautiful, simple, and clean bathroom that the homeowner will use with her primary suite upstairs.
