This month’s employee spotlight features Sales Director John Weber. John has been with Castle for just over a year, but his extreme talent makes it seem like he’s been a part of the family since day one.
John has been in construction sales for over 20 years. He sold and worked in most facets of residential remodeling, new construction, and commercial construction. Working at Castle allows John to focus on the thing he loves most about the construction process: and that’s talking with every new Castle client about their project and then watching our designers and crews bring those projects to life!
Just like John’s wife Theresa, he has lived in Minnesota his whole life. They have two beautiful daughters who he says are growing too fast!! Their daughter Rose stays busy on the softball field all year while their youngest, Grace, loves to spend summers riding horses as often as possible.
Before joining the Castle family, John was the sales director for a large (national) subcontractor. As the Sales Director at Castle, John has the opportunity to talk to each and every person who reaches out to Castle about their project!
Our marketing team sat down with John to get to know him a little more, here’s what he had to say:
What are three fun facts about you?
- When I graduated college, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. But I worked on a carpentry crew throughout college summers so figured I’d give construction a try. 25 years later… still loving it!
- I have a wife and two daughters. Between fastpitch softball, horseback riding and gymnastics there NEVER seems to be a dull moment.
- Do I sound old when I say that when coming into the construction industry, all I had was a pager so stops were frequent at phone booths!?
Why did you choose this profession?
Working carpentry during summers in college – but my father was also a land developer so I’ve been around construction my entire life.
Can you share an industry related piece of advice for remodeling pros?
I STILL find it amazing that small little improvements to a personal space can make them seem so new and refreshing!
What inspires you?
Talking to people first when they contact Castle. I love hearing ideas and thoughts about their personal project.
What is the best advice you have received?
Ask questions … then listen!
