This retired couple spent their years working, raising their children and putting each one through college.  They were finally ready to focus on themselves and improve their home layout and efficiency by adding an addition to their home.  A nice sized addition was added that allowed them to over double the size of their original kitchen, remove the exterior door that went through the kitchen and added a large mudroom / storage area, a dining area and increased the size of their main floor bathroom.  New windows allow for natural light to flow through the space.  Custom cabinetry was a focal point of these new spaces – a special dining area hutch was created for the homeowners to display their cherished collections of Christmas dishes, collected coffee mugs and more.  Dining area banquettes and mudroom benches complimented the warm wood tones of the dining hutch, while the kitchen cabinetry offered a lightness through it’s beige/putty color.  Quartz countertops and new appliances modernize the new kitchen space.  The new bathroom features an ageing in place friendly shower, separate soaking tub and new large vanity with optimal storage.  The couple hopes their new added square footage and updated areas will serve them for many more years to come.
